What these brick cladding projects show
Where the brick stops matters. On the villa and the twin towers, brick fills panels and bands while plaster carries the slab edges and window surrounds. The buildings look lighter than they would if clad edge to edge.
A dark base keeps a front clean. The hillside apartments sit on a charcoal stone plinth, which hides splash from the road and gives the brick something to stand on.
Full cladding suits simple forms. The institutional block is clad almost everywhere, which works because the building itself is a plain box with regular windows.
Indoors, light does the work. The café and lounge walls are lit from above, so the texture and colour mix show. The same wall under flat front light would look much plainer.
To try these ideas on your own front, use the elevation designer, or browse the tile lookbook.
